I just wanted to pass on what I thought to be an interesting edition of Computerworld, the old-school, mother of all computer magazines. The July 9th edition was their 40th anniversary special, and one where it also (finally!) moved to a magazine format.
Anyway, the issue covers:
- a list of 10 people in IT who have mattered over the last 40 years
- the 10 most important IT products
- spectacular product failures over the last 4 decades
- and a bunch of other notable IT stories and tidbits
- over the past 40 years.
Some amusing stuff in there. Well, Raxco Software did not make the list, although we are getting ready to mark out 30th year in 2008. In the 1980s, we were the leading supplier in the world of OpenVMS system management software for the old Digital Equipment Corporation. In fact, many large enterprises today still run mission critical applications on OpenVMS, and manage those systems today with software from Raxco.
Now that's history...
