All kinds of news and buzz coming out of Orlando at Microsoft's Tech Ed conference this week. Regarding Windows Server 2008 (AKA Longhorn, AKA Vista for servers, ...), there has been a lot of speculation that Microsoft will not release it to manufacturing (RTM) this year as previously announced. Well. That would be a first if they didn't make that date. But nevertheless, Microsoft stands by it release dates, with RTM late this year and release next year. The Windows Server Division blog states that "we remain fully on track for Windows Server 2008's release to manufacturing in the second half of 2007, with general availability following after that as usual."
I'm thinking they're going to do it, but I'm not heading to Vegas to place any bets; Vista took just a little while.
