I've written in the past about videos, video editing and fragmentation. We have a new podcast available that provides some good information on video editing and the effects of fragmentation - and the benefits of defragmentation. You can listen to VideoMaker Magazine's Charlie Fulton, editor, on this podcast. Charlie discusses why defragmentation is so important when dealing with large video files and a lot more. As Charlie points out, the ability to control and schedule when you want to defragment is also an important issue. The unique scheduling capability of PerfectDisk's AutoPilot Scheduling is just one reason more people are turning to Raxco for their defragmentation needs. As a reminder, Videomaker is a great magazine for those of you involved with video editing, whether you're a beginner, expert, or somewhere in between.
I really enjoyed listening to the podcast! Great content.
I run a defrag at least monthly if not more often. Doing so will keep your hard drive in great shape and should help give it a longer life. Can't risk losing any data here!
I recently created a screen recorded video on how to defragment a hard drive using windows xp. It can be seen here if anyone is interested: http://www.computersupportvideos.com/videos/defrag/
